DAN Brown hammered his maiden league century as Minster Lovell cruised to a 174-run victory at Marcham in Division 1 on Saturday.

Brown, 21, finished unbeaten on 123 as Minster rattled up a formidable 265-3 against the division’s whipping boys.

In reply, Marcham were tumbled out for 91 as Chris Morgan and Jack Simpson took two wickets apiece.

Charlbury fell to a 166-run defeat at Shrivenham.

The home side racked up 252-5 as Shaz Khan (64), Adam Tucker (61) and Conor Taylor (59) all made half-centuries.

And Charlbury were quickly in trouble in their reply as they were skittled out for 86.

In Division 2, Stonesfield defeated bottom side Witney Swifts by 39 runs.

Captain Jamie Burns sco-red 81 in Stonesfield’s 234-5, and then Swifts were restricted to 195-8 in reply, despite 51 from Jason Seacole.

Freeland fell to a two-wicket defeat at high-flying Marsh Gibbon.

Grant Madden hit 35 as Freeland set 164-9, but Marsh Gibbon reached the target, thanks to Carl Needham’s 54.

Chadlington closed the gap on the leaders to a single point with an 89-run win at Westcott in Division 3.

Mark Lambert (69no) and Freddie Magee (49) helped Chadlington to 208-7, then Matthew Duester returned fi-gures of 5-47 and Steve Hunt 4-53 as Westcott were dismissed for 119.

Combe posted a ten-wicket win at Winslow.

The home side had scored 181-7, but Chris Moore (86no) and Charlie Arber (74no) made light work of the target as they saw Combe home.

In Division 4, Chipping Norton crushed Wootton & Boars Hill by eight wickets.

Adam Wallington (4-18) and Rhys Warner-Carter (3-20) shone as Chippy dismissed their visitors for 92.

Ben Tew (60no) then led his side to 95-2.

Hailey slipped to a two-wicket home defeat against Britwell Salome.

They were undone by Britwell’s Chris Penny, who claimed 7-19, Hailey being bowled out for 107.

Andy Herrington (63no) then led Britwell to victory.

Charlbury 2nd posted back-to-back victories.

On Saturday, they defeated visitors Kennington by 68 runs, before seeing off Fringford by 47 runs 24 hours later.

Swinbrook were too str-ong for Great Horwood 2nd in Division 5, running out 61-run winners.

Simon Le Good (39) helped Swinbrook to 192-6, before Andrew Wingfield Digby took 4-32 as Horwood were dismissed for 131.

Jason Penn smashed a brilliant 145 to help Kilkenny to 273-6 against Shrivenham 2nd in Division 6.

Chris May then claimed 3-15 as Shrivenham were shot out for 99.

Elliott Crowther’s 5-23 help-ed Minster Lovell 2nd to a 19-run win against Dor-chester.

In Division 7, a youthful Ducklington fell to a ten-wicket defeat at Kidlington.

They had performed well with the bat, posting 213-8 with Kane Lewis hitting 42.

However, Nick Jeacock (111no) and Richard Walker (85no) led Kidlington to 214-0.

Paul Duester snr scored 90 not out to help Chadlington 2nd to a 66-run win over Marcham 2nd in Division 8.

In Division 9, Bampton slipped to a one-wicket defeat at Chinnor.

Bampton posted 221-6, Ric-hard Pitt hitting 53.

Chinnor edged home as a 55-run last-wicket stand saw them to victory.

Minster Lovell 3rd surprised title-chasing East & West Hendred 2nd with a four-wicket win.

Dave Mayers claimed 6-39 as Hendred were dismissed for 119, then Minster reached 120-6 to seal victory.

CHADLINGTON booked their place in the semi-finals of the Telegraph Cup with an 11-run win over Watling-ton.

Freddie Magee hit 51 in Chadlington’s 164-9, before Steve Hunt (5-27) and Matthew Duester (3-31) combined to dismiss Watlington for 153.

Combe also reached the last four, courtesy of a four-wicket win at Hailey.

The home side were dismissed for 82, then Combe reached 84-6, despite 5-34 from Andy Walker.

Chipping Norton eased to a six-wicket win over Win-slow Town.
