WOODSTOCK Harriers had a field day at a scorching Thame 10K on Sunday as they won a clutch of medals.

Braving temperatures approaching 90F, senior star Steve Naylor led the way as he crossed the line in 31mins 23secs, smashing the old course record of eight years by nearly a minute.

Such was Naylor’s dominance, he won the race by more than two minutes ahead of Aylesbury Vale’s Charlie May (33.48).

Darrell Bellinger of Oxford City was third in 34.00.

Harriers’ medal joy continued in the vet 50 men’s category, where the evergreen Bryan Vaughan clinched victory in 38.24.

In the women’s race, Sophie Carter ensured a hat-trick of gold medals, winning in 37.21.

Clubmate Jess Webb maintained her good form to finish third in a personal best of 40.08.

This helped Woodstock’s women to the team prize, while, despite Naylor’s efforts, they were pipped by Oxford City to the men’s title.
