Leigh has played four times for Oxford United so far this season, and last represented his country for World Cup qualifiers and the Copa America, both of which were in June.

Former U’s player and coach McClaren was appointed Jamaica head coach at the end of July, succeeding Heimir Hallgrimsson, who resigned in June to take charge of the Republic of Ireland.

McClaren had spent the previous two years as assistant to Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, but left the Red Devils after agreeing a two-year deal with the Reggae Boyz.
