TYLER Goodrham has signed a new ‘long-term’ contract with Oxford United.

The 20-year-old winger signed his first professional deal with the U’s in June 2021, before agreeing a fresh contract in October 2022.

That deal saw him extend his stay at United until 2024, with the option of a further year.

The U’s have not disclosed the length of Goodrham’s latest contract, describing it as ‘long-term’.

United head coach Des Buckingham said: “He’s a young and exciting player that fits the profile, and he scores goals at important times.

“It’s one thing scoring goals, but he scores at important moments or important times in games.

“They’re very few and far between those types of players, but on top of that, he’s come through our club.

“There may be a time when his growth outgrows us, but I hope that isn’t the case, and I hope we can grow together.

“To have somebody like him and his willingness to continue learning, is the type of player that we want here.

“As a club, we’ve got a long-term plan to be a sustainable Championship club, and hopefully Tyler will play a big part in helping us get there.”

Goodrham has scored six goals in 31 appearances so far this campaign, adding to the four times he netted last season.

The attacker joins goalkeeper Simon Eastwood, defenders Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore and Stephan Negru, plus striker Gatlin O’Donkor, in signing fresh deals this season.
