OISIN Smyth admits he was keeping an eye on a loan exit from Oxford United prior to his wonder strike at Charlton Athletic.
The midfielder made just his 10th appearance of the season in all competitions, as United won 2-1 at The Valley on New Year’s Day.
Mark Harris equalised after Chem Campbell had given the hosts an early lead.
It set the game up nicely for a late winner, and Smyth was the player to do it, netting from 30 yards out with a sumptuous effort.

However, the 23-year-old revealed after the game that a loan move during the January transfer window was something he was monitoring due to his lack of game time.
Smyth said: “It’s always in the conversation when you’re not playing, but at the minute, we’ve got a lot of injuries.
“The gaffer asked me to help out and cover where I can, and I’m happy to do so. As long as I’m playing, I’ll be happy to play.
“I want to be playing and I train hard to do that, but at the same time, we’ve got some very good players here and it’s been hard for me to break in.”
