CHINNOR’S wait for their first win of the season continued as they fell to a heavy 42-14 defeat at Rosslyn Park.
The hosts pulled away with three tries in the final 12 minutes of the National 1 fixture.
Only seven points separated the sides with a quarter of an hour left, but Chinnor could not keep pace.
The hosts led 21-7 at half-time, with Jared Saunders getting Park up and running when he plunged over off the back of a driving lineout.
Craig Holland added the extras and kicked two more points after Matt Bolwell crossed, with Chinnor captain Ben Manning in the sin-bin.
Matt Gordon then exploited a gap in the centre of the pitch to charge over under the sticks – Holland again adding the extras.
Chinnor ended the half well and a fine set-piece move saw Jason Worrall touch down, Tom Price converting.
The visitors were on top after the restart and Nick Smith converted Dean Hammond’s 65th-minute try when Park’s Dan Laventure was in the sin bin, making it 21-14.
However, Park replied instantly through Henry Robinson’s converted score, before Gregor Gillanders drove over and Jack Gash crossed.
Holland completed a perfect night from the tee, while a late yellow card for Lewis Jones compounded Chinnor’s misery.
In National 2 East, Henley Hawks fought back from 16 points down to beat Guernsey Raiders 28-24 at Dry Leas.
Guernsey’s Anthony Armstrong crossed and Dan Morgan added two tries early on, with Owen Thomas converting twice.
Max Titchener’s penalty was Henley’s only score, but they roared back as Rory Mason and Sam Lunnon went over.
Titchener added a conversion, only for Guernsey to cross again to go 24-15 up at the break.
Henley had the last laugh, as Tom Vooght’s try supplemented eight points from Titchener’s boot to seal victory.
Elsewhere, Oxford Quins made it three wins out of three in Regional 1 South Central with a 31-22 triumph at London Welsh.
Banbury Bulls lost 46-25 at home to Bracknell.
Grove edged out Buckingham 34-33 in Regional 2 Tribute South Central, while Witney overcame Devizes 37-14 to continue their perfect start.
