LEAH Burridge’s first competitive goals for Oxford United Women secured a 2-0 win at Plymouth Argyle.
The summer signing scored early in both halves as the U’s continued their 100 per cent start to the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier season.
Liam Gilbert’s side will aim to make it three wins out of three tomorrow night when they host London Bees at the RAW Charging Stadium (7.45pm).
United started the season with a 2-0 home victory over Bridgwater United and they were on their way to repeating that feat after a minute and a half.
The U’s pressed high and Sarah King found Burridge inside the penalty area, with the new recruit making no mistake.
Riva Casley headed wide and Daisy McLachlan volleyed over as United hunted a second.
There were more chances before the break with Carly Johns stabbing an effort off target, Casley seeing a bicycle kick tipped behind by Jasmine Read and Naomi Cole striking the woodwork.
Another goal was on the cards and it arrived eight minutes after the break.

Burridge still had a lot to do as she attacked Johns’ cross at the back post and she executed an excellent diving header to make it 2-0.
Plymouth’s best spell came in the closing stages but United kept it tight to ensure they took three points and a clean sheet with them on the long trip home.
