OXFORD United youngster James Golding has joined Banbury United on loan.
The 17-year-old centre back will play for the club managed by former U’s player Andy Whing for the next month.
Golding goes straight into the squad for tonight’s Pitching In Southern League Challenge Cup quarter-final at home to Rushall Olympic.
The teenager only turned 17 in August, but made his senior United debut off the bench in October’s 3-2 Papa John’s Trophy win over Tottenham Hotspur Under 21s.
He was also an unused substitute against Bristol Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup and Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One.
Golding joins a Banbury side on an eight-match winning run and 16 points clear at the top of Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.
It comes after Whing said last week he would look to the loan market to bolster his squad.
