TALENTED teenager James Coles will make his full Oxfordshire debut this weekend.
The 16-year-old has impressed at Aston Rowant for several years and, after playing for the county age group sides in the past, has now been selected for the senior squad.
He will be doing so on home soil, with Buckinghamshire the visitors to Rowant on Sunday (10.45).
Robbie Shurmer will be making his white ball debut as Oxon get their season, cut to four weeks of friendly matches due to coronavirus, up and running.
The 50-over match with Buckinghamshire is the first of three contests to decide the inaugural Nurton-York Cup.
Sunday’s winners will receive three points, while there are two points available for each of the two T20 matches to be held on the same ground on August 30.
Bucks, who will again be captained by High Wycombe’s Tom Hampton, have named two former professionals in their squad, both of whom will be make their debuts for the county.
Alexei Kervezee, a 30-year-old batsman who spent nine seasons with Worcestershire, has played ODIs for Holland.
The other is Eliot Callis, a batsman who played two first-class matches for Yorkshire.
He has switched from Bedfordshire to Bucks after joining High Wycombe.
