PAUL Leverton produced a superb performance in the Race to the Stones.
The 100km ultra challenge saw runners travel along the Ridgeway Trail and climb 1200m.
The Alchester AC member completed the gruelling course in 9hrs 52mins 7secs to finish 13th overall from a field of almost 3,500.
Zoe Martindale (13.45.36) and Emma Willcox (18.30.39) also finished.
Rachel Stanley-Evans was the first LV40.
The Witney Roadrunner’s time of 10.44.00 saw her the fifth woman home overall, while Lisa Butler was the second LV40.
Abingdon also tasted success in the BMAF 20km Race Walking Championships, with Noel Blatchford winning the LV70 category and Judy Howard taking LV60 gold.
At the Saturn 5k, Alchester’s Sarah Rendell was the first lady home.
- FIONA Bunn won gold at the Junior World Orienteering Championships.
- A HOST of Bicester Tri members sparkled at the Bicester Junior Triathlon.
Forming part of the South Central Junior Series, the sold-out event saw Hugo Jinks win the boys (youth) race, with Edward Jolliffe third.
Oliver Conway won the boys’ TS3 event, with Sam Njuguna second.
Thomas Styles was runner-up in the boys’ TS2 competition, while in the TSS event, Edward Styles won and Daragh Cassidy came third.
In the girls (youth) category, Amelia Cox came second, while Anna Jolliffe was second in the girls’ TS3 race, with Lucy McGrath third.
