NORTH Leigh’s great escape is still very much on as they prepare to entertain Barton Rovers at Eynsham Park tomorrow.

The Millers’ 3-0 win at Aylesbury last weekend took them off the bottom of the Evo-Stik South League Division 1 Central table.

But joint manager Craig Dore knows even more is required to climb out of the relegation zone.

“We need to ensure we are switched on from the start tomorrow,” he said.

“We have six points up for grabs in three days, and I think one win will be enough, but we will definitely go all out for two.”

Andy Gunn (groin) is ruled out and Harry Grant is suspended, but Dore is hopeful Ben Barrett will return from a knee problem.

Kidlington will bid to spoil Peterborough Sports’ promotion party.

The visitors will wrap up the title with a win at Yarnton Road, while the hosts are looking to climb further away from the drop zone.

Boss Julian McCalmon, whose side are four points clear of safety, knows a tough run of matches await.

“I think we have the toughest run-in you can ask for, with Peterborough, Thame and Corby to come, but we’ve taken opportunities to take our destiny into our own hands,” he said.

“I think another three points will make us safe.”

“We can go into the Peterborough game with no expectation on us, and the pressure is all on them really.”

Didcot Town boss Andy Ballard knows the pressure is on his side to stay in the play-off places.

The Railwaymen drew 2-2 after losing a 2-0 lead at home to Kidlington last week, and the manager wants improvement against Cambridge City if they are to remain in the top five.

“I feel we need to win our three remaining games to stay in the play-offs,” he said.

“Last Saturday wasn’t the first time this season that we found ourselves in front only to take our foot off the gas, and it’s not a nice habit to have picked up.

“It’s up to the players and I to get through this and pick up the points we need.

“The lads need to show a bit of character, but I’m confident we will do so.”

Pablo Haysham returns from injury as Ballard names a full-strength squad.

Thame United travel to Yaxley just one point outside the play-offs.

And boss Mark West echoes the thoughts of his Didcot counterpart by suggesting three wins will be needed to extend their season.

“We’ve given ourselves a chance after last week’s win,” the manager said.

“It’s kept our season going into the final week, which is lovely.” Results have gone for us, and it’s great to have everything to play for.

“We need to go to Yaxley and get a win. That doesn’t mean a gung-ho attitude, but we’ve hit a little bit of form and we have every chance.”

In Premier Division Central, Banbury United have secured their status for another season, but boss Mike Ford is determined to end the campaign on a high – starting at home to bottom club Bedworth United tomorrow.

“I don’t look at what position they are in. It’s totally about our focus on finishing our season strongly,” the manager said.

“Getting a good win tomorrow will help, and we will try to replicate everything we’ve done well in the last few weeks.

“We have looked at what we were doing well earlier in the season and we’ve worked on our shape, our recovery and retreating back into positions. The hard work we’ve done in training is paying off and it’s now down to my players to put this into practice.”

Ford names an unchanged squad from the side that drew 0-0 at Leiston last weekend.
