TWO of Oxfordshire’s Formula 1 teams picked up points at yesterday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Kevin Magnussen finished sixth in his Banbury-prepared Haas, with Carlos Sainz in seventh place for the Enstone-based Renault team at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Grove-based Williams team were unable to build on their points-scoring finish in Azerbaijan a fortnight ago, with Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin 11th and 14th respectively.
Haas’ Romain Grosjean spun at the first corner and crashed into Renault’s Niko Hulkenberg, resulting in retirements for both drivers.
World champion and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton claimed victory.
