North Leigh stayed on top of the Hellenic League Premier Division after a commanding 2-0 victory against Almondsbury Town on Saturday.
The two clubs met only a fortnight ago, sharing the points in a feisty 2-2 draw at Eynsham Park, but this time around, North Leigh controlled the game from start to finish.
They got off to a dream start as they opened the scoring with their first attack.
Andy McCabe fed a pass out to Simon Futcher on the left flank, who controlled the ball before unleashing an unstoppable volley past keeper Andy King from the edge of the box.
The game continued at a fast pace from end to end, with North Leigh always on top.
And they doubled their lead five minutes before the break.
A shot from McCabe was touched away by the Almondsbury keeper.
Kevin Lewis then picked up the loose ball, rounded King and calmly slotted home to make it 2-0.
The second half saw North Leigh continue to keep up the pressure, but they struggled to break down a resolute Almondsbury defence.
The best chance fell to North Leigh's Liam Hope, who shot just wide from near the penalty spot.
In the final few minutes, North Leigh boss Mark Gee brought on substitute James Mortimer-Jones, making a welcome return after a two-month injury lay-off.
And his team comfortably held on to seal a useful three points and keep up the heat on Slimbridge.
