Great & Little Tew suffered their second defeat of the season when losing by four wickets away to Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West leaders Gerrards Cross in a close contest on Saturday.
After being inserted on the hottest day of the year, Tew quickly found themselves in trouble at 39-4, with three of the top order falling for ducks.
However, Joe White dug in to score his first half-century of the season.
He made a determined 57 off 125 balls before becoming the third of former Glouce-stershire left-arm spinner Vikram Banerjee’s six victims.
The left-handed Matt Woods found it easier to play the spin of Banerjee.

Woods and Liam Manley put on a valuable 38 runs for the last wicket to take Tew to a respectable 189-9 from their 60 overs.

However, they stumbled a little against White, who completed a fine all-round display with figures of 4-71.
But it was not enough to stop the hosts from reaching the target for the loss of six wickets with nine overs left.
Tew, who have still to be bowled out in this their first season at this level season, occupy third place at the halfway stage.
On Saturday, they face a trip to Harefield.
