Father and son Tim and Zak Jarvis have broken Minster Lovell’s all-time record partnership. The duo shared a 254-run stand in their second team’s 61-run win at home to Hook Norton 2nd in OCA League Division 6 on Saturday.
After the loss of an early wicket, 17-year-old Zak came to the crease with his father, and the pair dispatched the bowling to all parts.
Oxfordshire Under 17 all-rounder Zak finished on 156, and Tim 88 not out as Minster reached 270-2 in their 45 overs.
Hook Norton were restricted to 209-9 in their reply, Matt Booker scoring 83.
Swinbrook saw off hosts Deddington by 33 runs.
Swinbrook were bowled out for 177, before Andrew Wingfield Digby claimed 4-19 as Deddington were dismissed for 144 in reply.
Minster Lovell cruised to an eight-wicket win at Garsington in Division 1.
Eddie Dunn was the star of the show, taking 5-33 with his left-arm chinaman bowling, before scoring 43 not out to take Minster to 172-2.
Charlbury lost by 138-runs at home to Shrivenham.
Conor Taylor and Alex Kill made centuries in a mammoth stand of more than 200 for the third wicket as the visitors racked up 373-5 from their 45 overs – Taylor finishing with 159 and Kill scoring 111.
Charlbury could reach only 235-6, despite 80 from Ben Geeson-Brown and 78 not out from Steve Hicks.
Chadlington beat visitors Broughton & North Newington by 36 runs.
Alex Yarnley scored 83 in Chadlington’s 232-9, before taking 6-32 as Broughton were bowled out for 196, despite Neil Mepham’s 74.
Chipping Norton were unable to cope with Cowley Internationals as the Division 2 leaders recorded a seven-wicket win.
Ben Tew (76no) helped Chippy to 144, but Qaiser Naveed (43) and Eddie Howard (41) eased Cowley home at 148-3.
Combe stay second after an exciting 11-run win at home to Witney Swifts in Division 3.
Robbie Nicholson top-scored with 54 in Combe’s 217-9, Swifts falling short on 206-8.
In Division 4, Charlbury 2nd beat Hailey by 22 runs.
Steve Wood hit 33 in Charlbury’s 162-9, Ian King taking 4-32.
Barry Nutt (4-19) and Josh Hornsby (4-40) then combined as Hailey were all out for 140.
Swinbrook saw off hosts Deddington by 33 runs.
Swinbrook were bowled out for 177, before Andrew Wingfield Digby took 4-19 as Deddington were dismissed for 144.
In Division 7, Stonesfield 2nd slipped to a 41-run defeat against Westbury 2nd.
Westbury rattled up 226 all out, with William Gurney scoring 93 and then restricted Stonesfield to 185-7 in reply.
A superb century from Daniel Bishop helped Ducklington to a 106-run victory at home to Chadlington 2nd in Division 8.
Bishop finished with 102 not out and Andy Walker 61 not out in Ducklington’s 279-4.
Walker took 3-50 as Chadlington were all out for 173.
Mark Pennington claimed 7-33 to help Combe 2nd to a 16-run win at Broughton 2nd.
Broughton were all out for 183, after Combe posted 199-7.
Witney Swifts 2nd marched on at the top of Division 9 with a 39-run home win over Wolvercote 2nd.
Josh Grant (52) again led the way for Swifts, who posted 180-9, before Mark Horne claimed 4-33 and Rob Pratley 3-29 as Wolvercote were all out for 141.
James Stacey slammed 140 not out in Sunningwell’s 195-9.
But 68 from Ben Wagerfield and 51 not out from Neil Rose led Hanborough 2nd to a three-wicket win.
In Division 10, youngster Ben Delnevo starred for Charlbury 3rd in their 44-run home win over Westcott 2nd.
Delnevo, 15, scored 70 in Charlbury’s 257-8, before Westcott fell to 213 all out.
