Sir – Like so many music fans I was shocked and stunned to hear of the passing of David Bowie.
Everyone’s got their own Bowie moments and favourites. I’ve enjoyed numerous Bowie moments over the years, and I’ll rewind to 1985, and the local weekly Friday night disco: the sherbets at the bar were flowing and myself and a pal cut a rug on the dance floor attempting to act out the David Bowie and Mick Jagger parts three parts to the wind to the pair’s great cover of Martha And The Vandellas’ Dancing In The Street.
I’ve enjoyed so many more over the years – in tandem with my elder brother – singing the infectious lyrics to Queen Bitch. And who can forget his duet with crooner Bing Crosby on Little Drummer Boy?
His numerous alter egos included, Ziggy Stardust and The Thin White Duke – but ultimately, he was David Bowie – a giant of music.
His extensive legacy will continue but what an incredible thrilling ride he’s given us all. Thank you.
