Sir – On Saturday, January 2, the Rotary Club of Witney held a street collection in aid of the flood victims in the north of England.
The response from the visitors and residents was amazing, over £2,000 was collected in six hours. By the time you read this the money will have been sent to Rotary clubs in places like Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire where the local Rotary club is identifying and supporting needy families and individuals to rebuild their lives.
Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone who made a donation on Saturday, the response evidences the good nature of local residents and our support for struggling communities.
In the future it could be us who need the help.
Once again many thanks.
Ron Spurs
