It was positive news for Witney Sports and Social club on Monday night.
The town council seems to have come to a resolution with the club committee over meeting health and safety regulations.
Once, the club could not secure a long- term lease for its facility.
Club treasurer Rob Pratley has stated clearly the club did not feel it was worth rectifying health and safety issues because it did not feel it had a guaranteed future, and it seems the council has been unwilling to enforce health and safety regulations in turn, because it too has lacked a clear plan for the club.
The council has now given the club a seven-point ultimatum, which club officials seem keen to meet.
However, the outstanding issue of the lease must still leave some room for doubt.
The council has stated it no longer has plans to sell the club, but until it puts pen to paper and signs a long-term lease for the club it is unlikely the uncertainty will completely disappear.
