An entire island in the Cotswolds complete with a bar and boat is available to rent.

The Island is located in the waters between Hardwick, Staton Harcourt and Standlake in West Oxfordshire, close to Witney.

Located in the middle of a water-skiing lake, the unique holiday spot allows tourists to fish and partake in a variety of water sports.

Owned by Adele Hawes since 1998, the spot now houses up to 22 people and has become a popular sport for celebrations and special stays.

“The island has changed a lot since 1998 and it has certainly seen some fun and games over the years,” she said.

“In 2003 Glen and I married there and in 2004 our daughter Georgia arrived.

“When it came to considering our 2nd child we decided that the boat trip with a toddler and a baby might just get a little too much every day so we set sail to dry land and later that year our son Eddie arrived.

“Fast forward, the kids are grown up, The Island refurbished and now run as a holiday let.”

“We really hope you visit and fall in love with The Island the way we did as it's a really special place and it's our absolute pleasure to be able to share it.”

The lake is divided into two halves, with one side dedicated to an array of water sports while the other is home to therapy rooms.

Holidaymakers can fish from the island, chill out in the hot tub or party in The Wonky Bar.

There are eight double bedrooms onsite with six of these available to be made up as twins plus an Epic Dorm Room.

Boats are also available to guests but two designated drivers for the boats are required and these must be over the age of 25 years old and hold a valid car driving licence.

You can swim in the lake next door in the season but not in the lake, the island sits in as it is a water-skiing lake.

“A weekend we will remember forever. Quite literally a little slice of heaven and The Island will without a doubt have a special place in all of our hearts.”

Prices range from £3,000 with prices based on 16 people but additional costs of £220 apply for each guest after that.
