Drivers have been warned as a Halloween mist has descended on Oxfordshire roads.

Several motorists have noticed a thick fog on roads around the county this morning on Halloween (Thursday, October 31) which has complicated journeys.

One driver, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Oxford Mail: “It is a very Halloween-y mist but it's really bad to drive in.

“I can’t see more than 100 metres in front and I have had to pull over for a bit.”

Photographs show a thick mist as described on several roads in and around Oxford including the Eastern Bypass.

The problem appears to be more widespread with Oxon Travel, a traffic account run by Oxfordshire County Council, putting out a fog warning across social media.

“Weather alert,” said the post.

“Please be aware of fog covering many roads across Oxfordshire this morning.

“Please take care whilst driving.”
