A village shop could have its own nail bar if plans are approved.
An application has been submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council for permission to build a 'modest' flat roof extension and convert an existing garage to a part-time nail bar at Peapell Stores in Fairspear Road in Leafield.
The shop is in the Stonesfield Conservation area, the Leafield Conservation Area and Cotswold National Landscape but a planning statement says "the extension and conversion has been designed to respect its historic setting".
"It will not change any historic views in the conservation area and there are no listed buildings near by whose setting might be impacted."

Doors and windows will match the existing and surrounding buildings and visits will be by appointment only with only one client visiting the premises at any one time.
"There would be no parking issues as all clients are local and would walk to the nail bar," documents say, while only two clients arrive by car.
It will not involve loss of any car parking or delivery use spaces.
A planning agent says: “My client’s grand-daughter already has a nail bar at the Old Post Office in Leafield which is close.”
Full application can be viewed on West Oxfordshire District Council's planning portal using reference 24/02384/FUL.
