A woman has been cleared of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

A jury found Osareen Omoruyi, aged 51, of Ducklington Lane, Witney, not guilty today of two counts of sexual assault by penetration and two counts of causing/ inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The acquittal relates to a reported sexual assault in a wooded area near the Waitrose supermarket in Witan Way in Witney at around 9pm on Wednesday February 7 this year.

Ms Omoruyi denied the offences.

During a police interview, Ms Omuruyi, who identifies as a transgender woman, told officers that the boy ‘wanted’ to drink alcohol and that he had asked for the sexual activity, but nothing had taken place.

At the trial on Friday (October 18), a forensic physician for Thames Valley Police gave evidence to the jury concerning injuries to the complainant’s genitalia following the alleged incident.

During cross-examination, Ms Omuruyi’s defence barrister asked if it was possible that the injuries could been caused by the teen himself such as by his own nails.

The forensic physician agreed that it is possible he could have caused the injuries.

When asked if he would have known at the time if he was injured, the forensic physician said it’s possible it would only have hurt if moved.

However, she added that the boy claimed he was intoxicated at the time of the incident meaning he may not have realised he was hurt.
