Firefighters were called out to a pub roof fire in Oxfordshire this weekend.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon (October 20) at 12:32pm as fire crews from Witney Fire Station dealt with a fire on the roof of The Bull Inn on Sheep Street in Charlbury.

Firefighters were supported by a hydraulic platform from Rewley Road Fire Station while dealing with a fire close to the watering hole’s chimney.

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said: “Although the chimney itself was not involved the fire did involve insulation materials around a fan unit on the top.

“The crews would like to thank the staff at The Bull Inn for their hospitality whilst we dealt with the incident.”
