An order to leave has been issued by Oxfordshire County Council after Travellers set up an illegal encampment.
The order was issued after the caravans recently appeared by the roadside on Cuckoo Lane off the A40 at Barnard Gate.
Locals said the inhabitants of the camp left a large pile of electrical rubbish at the rear gate of private members' club and hotel Estelle Manor.
Failure to comply with a direction to leave is an offence. It is also an offence to return to land within 12 months of being directed to leave.
A council spokesperson said: "A Direction to Leave was served on them yesterday for the travellers to be gone by 6pm today (Friday September 27)."
The fly-tipping has been reported to West Oxfordshire District Council as it is a district council matter.
