A meeting will allow Witney bus users to get closer to the companies providing their bus travel in October.

The town's first ever bus users meeting, organised by the Witney Traffic Advisory Committee with support from Witney Town Council, will give residents the chance to hear directly from the companies and those responsible for services at Oxfordshire County Council.

The meeting will provide updates on potential changes and improvements to services and routes, and allow bus users to ask questions.

Pulham's, Stagecoach, and West Oxfordshire Community Transport will all be represented at the meeting, alongside Witney's parish transport representative and the public transport team leader at Oxfordshire County Council.

New Witney MP Charlie Maynard hopes to attend, subject to his commitments in Westminster.

Councillor Andrew Coles, chairperson of the Witney Traffic Advisory Committee, said: "The meeting is a fantastic opportunity for bus passengers to hear directly about what the bus companies are planning going forward, as well as a chance to share their own thoughts, ideas and aspirations for [what] they would like to see from their local bus service.

"I'm grateful to all the participants for agreeing to come and take part."

The meeting will be held on Thursday, October 3, from 6pm to 8pm at the Corn Exchange.

If the event proves popular, it may become an annual occurrence.
