Drivers are warned of a planned closure for a major road in Oxford.

The A34 northbound carriageway will undergo an overnight closure between Hinksey Hill and Peartree from 9pm tonight (Monday, September 16).

It is scheduled to reopen at 6am tomorrow (Tuesday, September 17).

The closure is for resurfacing work by National Highways.

Oxfordshire County Council warned drivers to plan ahead.

Resurfacing work is also expected to start on Botley Road later today.

Traffic flowed freely into the city from west Oxford this morning, but drivers can expect delays from later today when temporary traffic lights will be set up.

The work will last for the rest of the week (September 16-25) and will take place during the daytime (7am-7pm).
