The winners of this year's Oxford University Hospital (OUH) Staff Recognition Awards have been announced following thousands of nominations.
More than 2,800 teams, members of staff, volunteers and fundraisers were nominated for the awards which celebrate the achievements of OUH staff.
BBC radio broadcaster Bridgitte Tetteh hosted the annual awards which is organised by the trust and supported by Oxford Hospitals Charity on Thursday (September 5).
The award categories are based on the trust's values; excellence, compassion, improvement, learning, respect and delivery.
There are also awards for Oxford Hospitals charity supporter or volunteer of the year, a patients' choice award which patients and their relatives nominate for, a chief executive officer’s award, and a chair's Award.
Community midwife Valerie Whitlow picked up the award for compassion while Jan Keenan and the cardiology outreach team won the award for delivery.
Newborn Care Matrons Nadine Purdy and Clare Morris won awards for excellence
Winning the award for respect was Dr Victoria Nesbitt, the lead consultant in the mitochondrial service.
Anne Goodall, a Senior Biomedical Scientist was handed the award for learning.
The Respiratory Early Diagnostic Service (REDS) Team won the award for improvement while Stuart Kinton a physiotherapist in paediatrics picked up the award for sustainability.
The Patients' Choice award was given to midwife Louise Grensted and the supporter or volunteer award was received by Max Thompson.
Professor Katie Jeffery, the director of infection prevention and control and consultant in clinical infection and microbiology, won the CEO’s award.
The echocardiography team were handed the chair’s award.
Chief executive officer at OUH, professor Meghana Pandit, said: "Attending our Staff Recognition Awards is always a humbling and heartwarming experience. It’s wonderful to hear stories of great care from across our organisation, and importantly to have the opportunity to thank everyone who is part of our OneTeamOneOUH for all that they do.
"Huge congratulations to not only our finalists and winners but also to everyone who was nominated.”
Chair at OUH, professor Sir Jonathan Montgomery, said: "It is a privilege to attend the Staff Recognition Awards and see the extraordinary work carried out by our staff and also the affection and respect given to them by their colleagues and patients.”
