Oxfordshire has an abundance of incredible walks that promise to transport you away from the foibles of life for an afternoon.

But surely you'd agree that if your dog can't come, then what is the point?

Luckily, Oxfordshire caters for all, especially our four-legged furry friends. But which route is best?

It can be tricky to find a dog-friendly route as lots of other walkers out there will be pup-less, but no matter, we have plenty of suitable options.

Here are the top 3 best dog-friendly walks in Oxfordshire as per AllTrails.

How often should you walk your dog in the summer?

1 Finstock and Charlbury Circular

This is a wonderful circular route in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that begins in Charlbury and visits the River Evenlode and Wychwood Forest, This route may be muddy after rain so waterproof shoes are recommended. Dogs are also welcome on this route. Make sure to stop by a local pub or cafe in town after your walk.

This is a lovely waterside and farmland trail starting from Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. The walk follows a long stretch of the Thames Path north up to Hambleden Lock, before turning away from the river to return via woodland and grass meadows.

3 Enstone Circular

This is a circular easy-going route from the village of Enstone in Oxfordshire. This loop is predominantly on public footpaths and takes you through the cute hamlets of Cleveley and Fulwell. The route crosses the River Glyme at two points and if walking in September expect fields of sunflowers on the approach to Fulwell. The loop also passes by the 'Hoar' stone, a neolithic tomb for which the village Enstone is named.
