Drivers should make plans for extra travel time ahead of expected delays on major roads - including the A34, A43 and M40 - over the next fortnight and into July. 

Works to these roads will create moderate delays of up to half an hour on parts of the A34 until August 19, while drivers will also face moderate delays on parts of the A43 until June 26, and parts of the M40 until July 10.

Drivers will face moderate delays of between 10 and 30 minutes due to ongoing work on several parts of the A34 including on: the A34 both directions Milton to Chieveley until July 8; from June 24 to July 27 on the A34 both directions Milton; and the A34 both directions Abingdon from July 5 to August 19. 

Slight delays of less than 10 minutes can be expected on the A34 at Peartree Interchange both directions until June 29; both directions Marcham until June 28; northbound at Hinksey Hill from June 27 to 28; southbound at Hinksey Hill from July 1 to 2; northbound at Weston-on-the-Green from July 8 to July 12; and both directions at Abingdon from July 1 to 13. 

Parts of the A43 to have moderate delays 

There will be two areas of the A43 facing moderate delays in the coming weeks, with three others with slight delays of less than 10 minutes. 

Drivers will face up to 30 minute delays from June 25 to 26 on the A43 near the M40 northbound junction 10 to 11 and southbound junction 11 to 10 as carriageways are closed for maintenance work.

There will be slight delays on the A43 northbound and southbound, Padbury Brook to Tusmore, until July 16; the A43 southbound Ardley from June 25 to 26; and the A43 northbound at Fewcott to Baynards Green from July 4 to 6. 

M40 works set to cause delays for drivers 

Multiple sections of the M40 will face moderate delays of up to half an hour in the coming weeks. 

These include on the: M40 southbound junction 11 from June 25 to 26; M40 southbound junction 10 from June 25 to 26; M40 northbound junction 10 from June 27 to 29; M40 northbound junction 8a from July 1 to 2; and M40 southbound junction 8a from July 8 to 10. 

Slight delays will also be in place on the northbound M40 at: junction 9 to 11 until July 11;  junction 11 to 12 from June 26 to July 6; junction 11 entry slip road from June 26 to 27; junction 8a to 9 from June 26 to 27; junction 9 to 15 from July 8 to 11; from junction 9 to 10 from July 8 to 9; junction 5 to 7 until June 25; junction 8 to 8a from July 1 to 2; and junction 6 to 7 from July 5 to 6.

Delays on the M40 southbound will include junction 11 to 10 until July 11; junction 12 to 10 until June 25; junction 15 to 9 from July 8 to 11; and junction 8 Oxford Spur from July 2 to 4.
