A former pilot living at an Oxfordshire care home took a trip down memory lane with a special flight simulator.
Barry Brown, a resident of MHA The Homestead in Carterton, returned to the cockpit, stirring memories of his many flights across the UK and France.
In his past, Mr Brown would often journey across the country in his self-constructed plane, accompanied by wife, Christine.
The reintroduction to flight was arranged by care home activity coordinators, Chloe Holmes and Kirsty Ridley.
They accompanied Mr Brown to Enstone Airfield for the simulator session, part of the home's Seize the Day initiative.
Ms Ridley said: "Barry has had a very interesting life and is someone who spent a lot of time either in or around aeroplanes."
Recalling the meaningful excursion, she added: "The most interesting bit of the day was when we found out Barry used to keep his plane at the airfield, so it was nice for him to revisit the past.
"He had a huge smile on his face, he recognised where we were, and you could see how much it meant to him."
Shedding light on the home-like atmosphere for Mr Brown, she added: "A few days later, Christine bought in Barry's old headset, maps and logbook from his flight bag and he looked right at home."
