We have another difficult looking home game this afternoon when we welcome Ipswich Town to the Kassam Stadium.

With games starting to run out, I expect Ipswich to come and have a real go at us.

When we drew at Portman Road earlier in the season, I said at the time that I expected them to be up there challenging by this time in the season.

They have done very well and still have genuine hopes of the play-off places but they also know they have to start closing the gap on us quickly and that should make for an exciting game to watch.

I love it when people say to me ‘it’s a big game’ – they all are.

Shrewsbury away last Saturday was just as big and we came through a tough test with flying colours.

We knew Sam Long and Ciaron Brown were going to be missing and then on the Friday night, Jack Stevens started struggling as well.

I came down to breakfast at the team hotel on Saturday expecting to hear even more bad news but for once it didn’t happen.

I thought Steve Seddon, John Mousinho and Simon Eastwood were outstanding after getting their chance, but then we knew they would be because they are good players and really good characters.

I enjoyed celebrating that win with the away fans, who were incredible, and the result leaves us in a very strong position.

We’ll take nothing for granted, just quietly keep doing our jobs.

The same is true of a potential new stadium.

I watched the feed of the council meeting on Tuesday and was struck by how many people really want us to succeed in our search for a new home, which truly belongs to the fans and the people of Oxford.

If we think there are going to be twists and turns during our last eight games then think how many there are going to be in the story of the new stadium.

Be patient, trust in the people who own the club and those who are quietly working away to make good things happen.

The future is bright, on and off the pitch, but let’s just stay in the current day and not think too far ahead.

We have an opportunity to get another three points on the board today so that is all we focus on.

There will be another 10,000 crowd there today; come and be part of what we are building.

There are two causes close to my heart: Helen & Douglas House in Oxford and Prostate Cancer UK nationally.

I am afraid to say I declined the chance to do a skydive for Helen & Douglas House, but I did accept the challenge of running a half marathon around the centre of London for Prost8, an amazing charity which helps men diagnosed with prostate cancer.

If caught early enough then the chances of survival are good, so get checked out and if you can spare a couple of quid to support my run, then please donate at justgiving.com/fundraising/Karl-ROBINSON17
