A man has died following a multiple-vehicle crash on an Oxfordshire road earlier this morning.

Thames Valley Police officers were called to the scene at around 6:30am this morning following a crash between a white Mercedes van, a Triumph motorcycle and a Ford Fiesta.

The crash took place on the A420 Faringdon, near to the junction of London Street.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his thirties who is from Faringdon, died at the scene of the incident.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

No one else was injured as a result of the crash.

The driver of the van, a man in his thirties from Gloucestershire, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in custody at this time.

Officers remain on scene while investigation and recovery work is ongoing.

Diversions are currently in place and police are asking motorists to avoid the area at this time.

Sergeant Matt Cadmore, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this road traffic collision in which a man has sadly died. My thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time.

“We are appealing for the public’s help in our enquiries and we would ask anyone who has witnessed this collision or if they have dash-cam footage that captures the incident to please come forward.

“Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference 321 of 27122021.”
