A dip into our archives has revealed what Oxford was really like in the 1970s.
We've searched back to find forgotten pictures of the city.
Here's what we discovered:
Years before Cowley Road Carnival, a street party that was not too dissimilar was held in East Oxford.
This photo shows the Bullingdon Road festival in full swing in August 1976.
Cornmarket is shown below in 1970 looking a complete mess due to a bin strike.
Another image below shows cars parked on both sides of a residential street in Marston in 1975.
In Mount Street in Jericho residents are shown enjoying a street fair in 1976.
Young people from Barton are seen enjoying a Bayswater play scheme.
