Fans have been offered a first look at the highly-anticipated sequel to the Downton Abbey film which was partly filmed in the summer at Cogges Manor Farm.
Cogges was turned into Yew Tree Farm for the hit ITV series and runs Downton tours and a film and display in the manor house.
Yew Tree Farm is home to the Drewe family in series four and five where Lady Edith’s child is brought up, and later home to Mr Mason in series six.
Bampton meanwhile doubled as the fictional northern village of Downton for the TV show with some of the most famous scenes shot there, including Lady Mary’s wedding to Matthew Crawley which was filmed at St Mary’s Church.
The show brought substantial tourism to the village with a dedicated local group of volunteers manning the shop, guiding visitors and managing the traffic.
In 2019, an exhibition 'Behind the Scenes - Downton Abbey' in Bampton Library's Vesey Room tracked the filming of the show across six series, starting back in 2010.
In the newly released stills from the movie, Hugh Bonneville, who stars as Robert Grantham, and Michelle Dockery, who returns as Lady Mary, are pictured on the stairs of a stately home.
It was confirmed earlier this year that Downton Abbey: A New Era will arrive in cinemas on March 18 2022.
It was due to be ready in time for Christmas 2021 - but the release was pushed back.
Another image shows Sophie McShera’s Daisy and Lesley Nicol’s Mrs Patmore chatting over a stove in the kitchen of the fictional Yorkshire country estate.
Other characters including Bertie Pelham (Harry Hadden-Paton) and Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) are seen preparing for a tennis match.
Dame Maggie Smith, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter and Elizabeth McGovern will all be reprising their roles and Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West are joining the cast.
The hugely popular TV series aired on ITV from 2010 to 2015 and followed the fortunes of the aristocratic Crawley family and their downstairs servants.
Show creator Julian Fellowes is returning to pen the script while Simon Curtis, whose credits include My Week With Marilyn, is on directing duties.
A teaser trailer has also been released which shows chauffeur Tom Branson (Allan Leech) remarrying Lucy Smith (Tuppence Middleton).
Branson tragically lost his wife Lady Sybill during labour in series three.
The first movie, in 2019, followed a royal visit to the Crawley family and Downton staff.
