DOZENS of schools in Oxfordshire have sent pupils and staff home to self-isolate as the county gets to grips with ‘Freedom Day’.
Over the past seven days, hundreds of pupils have been forced to isolate after positive cases of Covid-19 in their schools.
Below is a list of schools closed, and the date these partial closures were introduced:
Monday 19 July
Carterton Primary School: Both the Reception bubble and Year 5 class have closed due to positive PCR tests.
Horspath CE Primary School: Year 2 and Year 3 pupils are isolating.
St Christopher’s CE Primary School, Langford: One class is in isolation, as well as five members of staff.
Standford in the Vale CE Primary School, Faringdon: Year 2 and Year 3 bubbles are closed following a staff member testing positive.
Stonesfield Primary School: Year 1/2 Willow class will be closed until the end of term.
Friday 16 July
Bardwell School, Bicester: Four classes are partially closed, seeing 18 pupils and 13 members of staff isolating.
Benson CE Primary School, Wallingford: The Year 5 bubble was closed due to a positive lateral flow test. The Year 5s will self-isolate unless PCR tests come back negative.
Blessed George Napier Catholic School, Banbury: Two Year 7 tutor groups (57 students) were sent home after a positive PCR test. Year 8 was already isolating but can return tomorrow.
Botley School: The Year 1 Apple class is isolating pending a PCR result.
Bure Park Primary School, Bicester: One class bubble and an entire year group are isolating.
Fitzharrys School, Abingdon: Closed for all Year 9 pupils, while Year 8 is isolating, pending a PCR test result.
Langford Village Community Primary School, Bicester: Year 1 and Year 5 bubbles have been closed after a positive case in both.
St Leonard’s CE Primary School, Banbury: Reception and Class 1B are closed due to positive PCR tests. Children will not return until September.
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Bicester: Class 4 is isolating after a positive PCR result.
St Swithun’s CE Primary School, Kennington: Year 3 will not return for the rest of term, while Years 1 and 2, who were already isolating, will return tomorrow.
Thursday 15 July
Barley Hill Primary School, Thame: Year 6 has closed after a positive test.
Drayton Community Primary School: The full Year 1 bubble of 30 pupils has closed while seven of 30 Year 5 pupils are isolating.
Hill View Primary School, Banbury: The Year 1 bubble is closed due to a positive result, isolating until the end of term. The Saplings Foundation Stage bubble is also closed.
North Hinksey CE Primary School: Year 5 is closed until the end of term due to a positive case.
Orion Academy, Oxford: Orion is closed to all students due to a combination of staff already self-isolating and the need for more staff to self-isolate after a positive test result. The school was unable to remain open on the remaining level of staff.
Pegasus Primary School, Oxford: Reception children are isolating, and will return on Friday. The Year 4 bubble is closed and will not return until September due to the isolation period going beyond the last day of term.
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Headington: Year 3 bubble is isolating.
The Warriner School, Bloxham: 28 pupils students from the Year 8 bubble, and 27 from the Year 11 bubble are self-isolating.
Wednesday 14 July
Didcot Primary Academy: Year 2 is isolating until the end of term and have moved to online learning.
Dunmore Primary School, Abingdon: Year 4 will return tomorrow.
Standlake CE Primary School: Year 2 bubble is self-isolating until the end of term.
Tuesday 13 July
Longford Park Primary School, Banbury: The Year 2 class bubble is closed, as are the Franklin and Nightingale classes.
Tetsworth Primary School: Classes 1 and 2 will reopen tomorrow.
Witney Community Primary School: Year 6 will return tomorrow.
Monday 12 July
Chalrgrove Community Primary School: Year 5 is remote learning until tomorrow.
New Hinksey CE Primary School: Dove class (Year 3/4) is closed because of positive cases. Pupils are due to return tomorrow.
St Andrew’s CE Primary School, Chinnor: Year 2 is closed, returning tomorrow.
Wolvercote Primary School: Years 3 and 4 will return tomorrow.
