A £14.6M egg-packing factory is to be built in Standlake.
The Noble Foods plant, off the A415, will supply free-range eggs under the Happy Egg brand to supermarkets, as well as packing eggs for other customers who use their own brands.
The company was granted planning permission for the project earlier this year by West Oxfordshire District Council.
The project will create 180 jobs at Cotswold Farm, with the building expected to be completed next April. The site will have 25 spaces for lorries and 105 car parking spaces for staff.
Noble Foods has announed that specialist contractor Clegg Food Projects will construct the plant.
Richard Stowey, project director at Noble Foods, said: “This was vital as we look to build an industry-leading egg-packing centre.”
Clegg’s business development director, John Moxon, said: “This is a large-scale specialist project and our skills and vast experience of delivering schemes of this size mean we are ideally placed to meet the requirements of this contract.”
