CHARLIE Purton returned outstanding figures of 7-10 as Westbury thrashed visitors Twyford by 201 runs in Cherwell League Division 1.
Twyford opted to insert their hosts after winning the toss, but Westbury set 232-9 in their 53 overs as Tom Gurney top-scored with 58 and Charlie Williams scored 53, Shabaaz Alam taking 4-66.
Twyford’s reply lasted less than 13 overs as they were routed for just 31, Purton running through the card with his seven-wicket haul.
Only Alam, with 11, got into double figures, while there were four ducks as Twyford slumped.
Leaders Didcot returned to form as they eased past hosts Buckingham 2nd by seven wickets.
Nathan Patrick took 4-41 in Buckingham’s 169-9, before Vishane Perera (74no) and Will Woodley (56) saw Didcot to 170-3 in the 44th over.
Great Brickhill maintained their title bid with a crushing 169-run victory over Abingdon Vale.
Mark Nelson (66) and Garth Davson (54) helped Brickhill declare after 50 overs on 263-7, Paul White returning to form with 5-55 for Vale.
The visitors were then bundled out for 94.
Shipton-under-Wychwood’s sorry season continued as they crashed to a six-wicket defeat at Tiddington.
Ryan Chapman’s 6-25 helped to bowl Shipton out for 131 in the 39th over, before Tiddington took just 22.1 overs to reach 132-4 as Matthew Johnston top-scored with 62.
Cumnor were denied maximum points by struggling visitors Long Marston, who held on for a draw.
Joe Dale (78) and Will Bull (73) had seen Cumnor declare on 290-6 in 50 overs.
Marston lost regular wickets, but batted out their 50 overs to close on 190-8.
In Division 2, Horspath 2nd surprised leaders Banbury 2nd with a thrilling two-wicket win.
Banbury were bowled out for 176, Dave Eaton hitting 66 and Mark Skelton taking 4-39.
Led by Swapnil Kulkarni’s 61, Horspath edged to 177-8 with less than three overs left, despite Eaton taking 5-33.
Aston Rowant 2nd closed to within two points of top spot as they beat Leighton Buzzard Town by 44 runs.
Tim Morgan (60) and Leo Bethell (54) helped Rowant to 161 all out, before three wickets each for Caspar Mason and Tom Brine helped dismiss Buzzard for 117.
Cropredy brushed aside Challow & Childrey by seven wickets to maintain their bid for the title.
Ed Somerton took 6-32 in Challow’s 107 all out, and then Cropredy eased home at 108-3 in the 41st over.
Minster Lovell’s dreadful campaign continued as they lost again, this time a five-wicket defeat at home to Bledlow Village.
They were skittled out for just 127, before Bledlow eased to
131-5 in the 40th over.
Bicester & North Oxford fell to a crushing ten-wicket defeat at Wolverton Town.
They were rolled for 96, Haroon Malik taking 5-35, then Wolverton cruised to 99-0 in the 17th over.
Amin Rafiq’s unbeaten century helped Oxford Downs 2nd steal a march on all their title rivals as they beat Great Brickhill 2nd by three wickets in Division 3.
With three other games ending in draws, Downs’ victory saw them close the gap on leaders Sandford St Martin to two points.
Chasing 196-8, Rafiq’s 113 not out saw Downs to 198-7 in the 45th over.
Leaders Sandford were held to a draw by visitors Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.
Sandford set 228-7, Jim Howe top-scoring with 60, but Nondies clung on at 183-9 to deny Sandford maximum points.
Horley saw off Stokenchurch by 35 runs to pull clear of the drop zone.
They were dismissed for 166, before Jonathan Hart took 3-5 as Stokenchurch were shot out for 131.
Elsewhere, Banbury 3rd clung on at home to thwart Thame Town 2nd, while Oxford 2nd had to settle for a draw with hosts East Oxford, despite 124 from Owyn Tong-Jones.
Division 4 leaders Witney Mills marched on with a crushing ten-wicket win at Abingdon Vale 2nd.
Pierre Lefort and Joe Cockroft took three wickets apiece as Vale were skittled out for 72, before Mills cruised to 73-1 in 11.1 overs.
Tiddington 2nd drew with the scores level in a thrilling contest at Bletchley.
Bletchley were all out for 180 in the 51st over, before Jordan Davis hit 110 as Tiddington reached 180-8 in their reply.
Great & Little Tew fell to a five-wicket defeat at home to Brackley.
They were dismissed for 138 and then Brackley eased home at 139-5 as Adam Wirth hit 67.
Elsewhere, Horspath 3rd battled out a draw at Kimble, while Charlbury were held to a draw by hosts Long Marston 2nd.
Didcot 2nd emulated their first team by staying clear at the top of Division 5 with a two-wicket win at home to Bledlow Ridge.
The visitors were bowled out for 155 as Kane Durrant took 4-26.
Kieran Beesley then hit 55 to steer Didcot’s reply to 159-8.
The evergreen Richard Hart took 5-51 to help Horley 2nd to a six-wicket win at Chearsley in Division 6.
Hart’s haul helped to bowl Chearsley out for 129, before Andrew Parker (50no) led Horley to 130-4.
A century for Amugham Shahid helped East Oxford 2nd to a 30-run win at Charlbury 2nd in Division 7.
Shahid hit 102 in East Oxford’s 191, then Muneeb Quershi took 4-58 as Charlbury were dismissed for 161.
In Division 8, Abingdon Vale 3rd fell to an outstanding haul of 8-45 from Jack Springett as they lost by seven wickets at Stokenchurch 2nd.
In Division 9, Nicholas Fuller’s 7-31 was in vain for Thame 4th as they were held to a draw by visitors Cropredy 3rd.
Steve Hurt smashed 101 to help Oxford 4th to a 46-run win at Charlbury 3rd in Division 10.
Oxford set 211-7, before Charlbury were dismissed for 165 in their reply.
