JESSICA Webb made a strong start to the Oxford Mail Cross Country League when finished third in the first round at Newbury Showground.
The Woodstock Harrier crossed in 25mins 37secs, just under a minute behind winner Isobel Fry, of Newbury.
Eynsham Roadrunners' Hannah Hale came fifth, with clubmate Liz McAllister eighth and first veteran 35.
Witney's Oheema Powell and Woodstock's Rachel Masser were not far behind in 12th and 13th respectively.
In the men's race, James Bolton, of Woodstock, was the first vet 40 home in ninth overall.

Under 11 boys: 1 O Oweka (Wit), 2 W Shayler (Wit).
Under 11 girls: 5 M Sherwood (Wit) 6.39.
