Sir – A business and retail park located in the east of Carterton was built after a recommendation by a study carried out at great expense to the taxpayer by Carterton Town Council many years ago.
This was to improve the town and increase its prosperity. But this retail park has been a complete failure, having been unoccupied for a number of years.
The new proposed development for high-density housing to the east of this retail park, adjacent to the Carterton Road, is the worst possible location with all of the issues that have been raised.
There are now many new developments being proposed or ready for occupation in and around Oxfordshire in far more favourable locations.
Therefore do the planners really think that this proposed blighted site will be on anyone’s wish list as a prospective dream home, with all of these issues at hand?
Carterton Town Council and planners may end up with another white elephant on their hands.
Have they never heard of TV’s Phil and Kirsty’s three golden rules? Location, location, location.
